If not for rearing at the start of the 2015 RMB500,000 G1 CHIA Cup (1650m) at Xilanhaote Manus may have become China’s first official winner of a G1 race. As it turned out he stormed home from 10 lengths behind the second last horse to run a slashing second. In defeat the unassuming brown gelding both franked the form that saw him crowned the champion of the 2014 CECF Singapore Cup and hinted at what may transpire in 2016.
