Johannes Vermeer has already etched his name in the CHC’s history by becoming its first ‘homebred’ G1 winner. In 2016 he will be given his chance for even greater honours as trainer Aidan O’Brien and our partners at Coolmore craft a program that will zero in on success before he retires to stud. It remains to be seen whether he will target the £450,000 2000 Guineas and £1.35 million Investec Epsom Derby like our former champion Australia, or whether his focus will be slightly different. Johannes Vermeer will be given his chance to become a masterpiece. If it is to be then 2016 will be his unveiling.
