Another day, another winner. Hot on the heels of Harrison Point’s triumph in Britain, talented mare Valiance secured a 10th win for the China Horse Club in July. Members must be hoping the month never ends as winners continue to tick over with increasing regularity. On this occasion it was the regally bred Valiance who added to the tally in the United States.
“It’s been a fantastic run for the Club. To enjoy 10 winners in 29 days is very rewarding and shows the hard work and planning is netting results,” said Michael Wallace, China Horse Club’s Chief Operating Officer.
“That tally of winners has been made up of results from Australia, Britain, Singapore and the USA. We have a few more runners in the coming days. Hopefully there is the chance to add another win to that list.”
Valiance may have only saluted by a nose at Colonial Downs (USA), but there is little doubt she has a winner’s attitude. Today’s triumph was the grey mare’s fourth from only six race appearances with her only unplaced efforts coming at her resumption after a long break at the start of this season and at her subsequent start in the G2 New York Stakes where she tackled a crack field over an extended journey.
Today’s test was a drop back in grade and Valiance appreciated it. Her judicious placement ensured she was always able to sit within striking distance in a small field before making her play for victory. Valiance and runner-up Our Bay B Ruth pulled clear of rivals before enduring an extended duel in the straight with Valiance prevailing on the line.
Valiance was bred by China Horse Club and is franking her weighty pedigree. The daughter of champion sire Tapit is the third foal of former G1 winning mare Last Full Measure who is currently in foal to boom young sire Constitution whose first crop of runners are taking all before them. The exceptional three-time G1 winner Tiz The Law, last seen racing away with this year’s G1 Belmont Stakes, is the standard bearer for Constitution but the support cast is wonderfully exciting and extensive.
