A La Victory edged the China Horse Club a win closer to a tally of 50 international wins when saluting in a S$75,000 Novice race (1400m) on Friday night in Singapore. The immensely gifted gelding also lifted his personal tally to two wins from three career starts and confirmed his standing as a prospect of some note as trainer Michael Freedman begins planning for 2015 with him.

The success was the 47th internationally for the CHC since it began racing on 28th April 2013.  In that time the club has won across eight different countries, been involved in eight different stakes winners of 14 stakes wins including five at G1 level. It was also the 12th success in Singapore since Tropaios saluted at his second career run with Corey Brown aboard on 9th June 2013 in the Revolte 2008 Stakes.

“It has been a heady beginning for the club, especially in centres like Singapore. We have raced eight different performers in that time and six are winners, four of them are multiple winners and Tropaios remains the title holder of Singapore’s richest domestic race, the S$1.35 million Longines Singapore Gold Cup,” said Eden Harrington, General Manager for the CHC.

“It is testament to the system in place and to Michael’s [trainer Michael Freedman] execution on this. For our members that jumped aboard opportunities in Singapore early, they have been wonderfully rewarded and had a great experience. For those that are watching and considering then I tempt them to step forward before the next opportunities are taken. The CHC is set to unveil some further talent in the coming months that we are very excited by. As those racing will tell you, it is better to be among the lucky few in the winner’s circle than to be on the outside wishing you were there.”

Freedman is still to determine A La Victory’s next step. The powerfully built performer has always hinted that he will be even better when tested over more ground, the art is determining when that will be.
