INTERNATIONAL AUCTION CECF HORSES VENDORS



CECF Horse Auction 09 Sep 2013 Shangri-la Hotel, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia

Thoroughbreds from as far afield as France, Ireland and Australia have been sourced for the inaugural CECF Race Meeting which will be the richest race meeting in China.

Each of these horses is pre-selected for one of the feature race events and all will be auctioned to invited guests. The auction will take place ahead of the Gala Dinner with winning bidders comfortable in knowing the horses they have purchased will be racing a few days later.

There has never been a more inviting opportunity to ‘buy and race’ with all successful bidders acknowledged at the Gala Dinner. The notification of all new owners, the barrier draws and jockey appointments will officially be made at the Gala Dinner.

ALCOTT  (AUS)

Alcott is a promising staying prospect by one of the world’s prolific sires in Zabeel (sire of 147 stakes winners including 44 individual Group 1 winners). This lightly raced individual has developed into a wonderful looking type and is horse that could give future owners a wonderful experience for many years to come.

BADGED  (AUS)

Badged is the product of a G2 winning mare and one of New Zealand’s premier sires in O’Reilly. A magnificent looking individual, he has shown genuine ability in a short career to date and has a lot to offer his future owner. Badged was purchased for almost RMB 1 million.

BEAT OF THE DRUM  (IRE)

Beat of the Drum is a winner in Great Britain over a mile, a distance she will contest during the CECF Race Meeting. This striking mare was purchased for RMB 1 million at auction as a yearling and is a daughter the young sire Duke of Marmalade. Duke of Marmalade, among the best racehorses of his generation, has made a strong start to his career as a sire and can already attest to six individual stakes winners.

BLAZED  (AUS)

Blazed is a talented son of Encosta de Lago who flashed home for an eye-catching third on debut. He will have improved sharply on that performance and hints at a very fruitful career to come. Blazed’s sire Encosta de Lago is the sire of 93 stakes winners including Hong Kong champion Sacred Kingdom.

BOUNTY  (AUS)

Bounty is son of outstanding sire Dubawi, whose sons and daughters have won some of the world’s great races including the Dubai World Cup winner, English 2000 Guineas, Prince of Wales's Stakes, Eclipse Stakes, Hong Kong Classic Mile and Singapore Krisflyer International Sprint. In all Dubawi has and sired 56 stakes winners including seven Group 1 winners. Bounty was a very impressive trial winner and unlucky at only race start on very wet ground. His best years is coming.

BULLION  (AUS)

Bullion is a winner over 1600m in Australia, the same distance as two of the feature events of the CECF Race Meeting, including the National Cup. This tough individual is a half-brother to a stakes winner and his sire, Darci Brahma has begun his career well. Darci Brahma is the sire of Group 1 winners from 1200m to 2400m including the 2012 Singapore Horse of the Year in Super Easy.

CAIRON  (FR)

Cairon comes to China as a very well credentialled individual. This performer is a multiple winner from France and a potential stallion prospect should he continue on his winning way at the CECF Race Meeting. Cairon has consistently raced at some of France’s best racecourses.

COMMENGY  (AUS)

Commengy is a tough, intelligent performer who has been very consistent throughout his career to date. Only once has he finished outside of the first three and his best appears ahead of him. This multiple winner is a very versatile performer who refuses to run poorly in his races. He is from the family of former US Horse of the Year in Bernardini.

DELICATESSE  (FR)

Delicatesse is a wonderful racing and breeding prospect for her future owners. This mare is already a winner in her native France and hass the credentials to play an important role as a future broodmare in China once her racing career is over. She is by the former tough miler Stormy River from the family of champion mare Danedream (1st Arc de Triomphe – the world’s best race).

DO YOU THINK  (AUS)

Do You Think stamped himself as a quality sprint-miler when saluting in the Group 3 Ballieu Handicap at only his second career run. This performance on one of the biggest race days of the Australian racing season singled the handsome bay out as one of the most promising juveniles of his generation. As a three-year-old he was also a game third in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes against outstanding opposition. Do You Think was raced in Australia by Dato Tan Chin Nam (equal-record four Melbourne Cups etc.) and Tunku Ahmad Yahaya who have shared success together on the biggest stage as owners with So You Think (more than RMB 42 million in prize money) and many others.

ENDZONE  (AUS)

Endzone is a free-rolling performer that has confirmed his abilitieis by alrady winning in his short career. Competitive from 1400m to 2000m, he is a tough and sound type that can continue building on his career record in China.

EVERGLADES ISLAND  (IRE)

Everglades Island is bred to be exceptional being by a champion sire out of a champion mare. His sire Montjeu is the sire of the winners of Arc de Triomphe, Epsom Derby, Melbourne Cup, Dubai Sheema Classic, Irish Derby, Canadian International, Australian Derby, French Derby etc. His dam, Hula Angel, won the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas (1600m) against the best of her age. Everglades Island is only lightly raced but shapes as a promising staying type.

FLAMING AURA  (AUS)

Flaming Aura is fast, game and tough. Best placed over short course sprints, this determined mare is a multiple winner in her native Australia and will give rivals something to chase over sprint journeys. Once her racing days are over she is also a broodmare prospect for China.

FLOWER BOUQUET  (IRE)

Flower Bouquet is a daughter of the world’s best sire Galileo and also a half-sister to a stakes winner. This wonderfully bred mare could be a foundation mare for any serious breeder who wants to tap into some of the world’s most commercial bloodlines. Flower Bouquet is still a racing prospect and is best suited from 1600m to 2000m.

HALES  (AUS)

Hales is a lightly raced performer whose best is ahead of him. This athletic type is a half-brother to a Group winner and has shown promise from limited opportunities. He comes to China with a great deal of potential as a sprint-miler prospect.

HUSSONETTE  (AUS)

Hussonette is a proven racing commodity that is well credentialed to be competitive in races in and around a mile. Exceptionally tough, sound and resilient she has shown herself to be consistent from 1200m to 1800m. Hussonette also has great value as a potential broodmare once her racing career is over.

ILLUSTRATE  (IRE)

Illustrate may be the fastest horse ever to come to China. In a short space of time he has shown himself to be a promising sprinter with his speed matching his athletic good looks. This colt was purchased at auction as a yearling for nearly RMB 7 million and is not only a racing prospect but a prospective stallion prospect if he can win the CECF International Sprint.

KING OF THE ROMANS  (IRE)

King of the Romans is a winning half-brother to G1 winning two-year-old Beethoven. As a colt he has a most commercial pedigree and can add to his family’s credentials further in China. This handsome son of Holy Roman Emperor looks capable of being competitive in races from 1600m to 2400m and has much to offer now and in the future.

LA CASINO  (AUS)

La Casino is a compact and athletic filly who is explosive over sprint distances. A multiple winner she is out of a stakes winning mare making her not only an attractive racing propsect but an attractive breeding prospect once her racing career is over. Her sire, Casino Prince, is already the sire of two G1 winners.

MAGIC SPELL  (IRE)

Magic Spell is brother to Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed David Livingston, and is a close relation to champion racehorse and exceptional sire High Chaparral (already the sire of 46 stakes winners). Last but not least, he is a son of the world’s best stallion — Galileo.

MONTJEU MINDER  (IRE)

Montjeu Minder is a son of one of the world’s leading classic and staying influences in Montjeu. This colt has shown staying potential from limited opportunities and is closely related to Super Pistachio (prize money RMB 7 million) – a G2 winner in Europe and runner-up in the Hong Kong Derby. Montjeu Minder was purchased for RMB 1.9 million.

MANUS  (AUS)

The lightly raced Manus is both a horse for the now and for the future. Blessed with great potential he is a grandson of former South Australian Oaks winner Derobe. Manus was raced by the exceptionally successful Williams family whose blue and white silks have been carried to success in most of Australia’s most prestigious races including four Melbourne Cups. Manus is a son of Starcraft who won at G1 level in Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand.

MOST  (AUS)

Most is a strapping son of former champion sprinter and accomplished sire Choisir (sire of 53 individual stakes winners). This lightly raced chestnut is out of a daughter of the former champion mare Ethereal winner of almost RMB 27 million after her heroics in the G1 Melbourne Cup, G1 Caulfield Cup and G1 Queensland Oaks.

MR STARDUST  (FR)

Mr Stardust is a talented miler and multiple winner at some of France’s most famous racecourses. The racing and stallion prospect comes to China with much to offer. He is the son of Dashing Blade, the sire of 51 individual stakes winners including three Group 1 winners, and from a stakes placed mare who has already produced a stakes winner.

NASSAU  (AUS)

Nassau is a blisteringly fast mare who is a proven winner. A daughter of former champion racehorse and now quality sire Rock of Gibraltar, Nassau is a racing and breeding prospect for China. Rock of Gibraltar is already the sire of 84 individual stakes winners from aroun the world.

NORTH DAKOTA  (IRE)

North Dakota is a regally bred individual by Galileo, the world’s premier sire. Galileo is already the sire of more than 130 individual stakes winner and his impact has been felt over the globe. North Dakota brings his bloodlines to China. The striking colt is a half-brother to the G2 winner Admiralofthefleet and from a sire making family.

OFFENSE  (AUS)

Offense is a beautiful mare who is a proven winner. Sound and correct this daughter of outstanding sire, Red Ransom (106 stakes winners), has great racing potential giving every indiciation she can extend her speed up to 2000m. Offense is a racing and breeding prospect.

OUTPOST  (IRE)

Outpost comes to China as a proven winner from 1200m to 1600m in Ireland. A tough and game performer, this chestnut is very consistent and is a ready made racehorse who can make an immediate impact in China. Outpost is a son of the champion sire Giant’s Causeway who is the sire of more than 129 stakes winners worldwide.

PARLIAMENT SQUARE  (IRE)

Parliament Square comes to China as a stakes winning colt and Group 1 placed two-year-old sprinter. The striking three-year-old was purchased for RMB 3.4 million as a yearling and lived up to that potential by racing in stakes company through most of his career. Parliament Square is owned and raced by the internationally renowned Coolmore team of John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derek Smith who collectively have won almost every major race around the world. Parliament Square was raced out of Ballydoyle, the world’s most successful racing stable.

RUSHING TO WIN  (AUS)

Rushing To Win is a blisteringly fast mare who has won four of her nine career starts. This daughter of former star racehorse Lion Heart is proven on firm and wet ground and can further enhance her already impressive record in China. Rushing To Win is both a racing and breeding prospect.

SENTA TICK  (AUS)

Senta Tick is a wonderfully consistent individual and multiple winner. Competitive from 1400m to 2000m, he shapes as a wonderful racing asset in China and gives the indication he can extend his winning range over even more ground. Senta Tick is out of a stakes winning mare.

SMOKE SCREEN  (IRE)

Smoke Screen was an RMB 2.7 million purchase that has shown himself to be an emerging staying prospect. This colt is by the world’s premier classic influence in Montjeu who is the sire of 104 individual stakes winners including 26 individual G1 winners.

STURT  (AUS)

Sturt was a RMB 1.15 million purchase that has been taken along with great patience by Hudson Conway Racing, one of Australia’s most successful racing stables. This individual is a son of the high class proven sire Danehill Dancer from a daughter of Galileo. Sturt is a promising racehorse whose best years are ahead of him.

SURREALIST  (IRE)

Surrealist is a winning colt by former champion sire Montjeu (104 individual stakes winners). This individual cost RMB 1.8 million at public auction as a yearling and is a half-brother to a group placegetter. Surrealist is a promising staying prospect.

THE FERRYMAN  (IRE)

The Ferryman is a proven winner by the world’s leading sire, Galileo. This colt is a half-brother to a G3 winner from the family littered with sires including Spinning World, Aldeberan, Good Journey and Denon. The Ferryman has shown himself to be a highly promising performer from a handful of starts.

TORMENTED  (AUS)

Winning filly from only three career starts. Out of stakes placed mare who is also a sister to two stakes winners. By Australian speed sire Charge Forward, sire of 11 stakes winner. Tormented showed enormous ability and is yet to reach her full potential. She is a loving looking mare who still has much to offer on the racecourse and certainly at stud as a broodmare in time. Good racing and breeding prospect.

UTILISM  (AUS)

Utilism is a winning sprinter from Australia who is the daughter of Casino Prince, sire of All Too Hard, one of the best three-year-olds in the world in 2013. This lightly raced individual heralds from one of Australia’s premier families and is a racing and, in time, breeding prospect for China.

VILLEQUIER  (FR)

Villequier is a highly promising colt from France who comes to China with immense upside. This individual looks to have a most promising career ahead of him and while he has shown himself adept at a mile, much of his family has won over further, opening up interesting possibilities for him in future. A potential racing and stallion prospect.

VINSON MASSIF  (IRE)

Vinson Massif is a fast son of champion sire Giant’s Causeway with his optimum trip being between 1000m and 1200m. This colt is a proven winner and is a close relation to three stakes winner including G1 winner and young sire Poet’s Voice. Vinson Massif is brought to China by the all conquering Coolmore.
