greatest moment of the race happens right at the beginning,
and not the end.
With the rapidly modernising world reducing the role of horses -
from warcraft to farming - the role of horses has been diminished
to some extent. Yet, everything is not lost for the equestrian
world. Thanks to horse racing’s popularity, the equine species
are still able to feature, importantly, in the world’s economic and
cultural milieu. Man and horse continue to collaborate in this
kingly sport, in a never-ending race to be fitter, faster and better.
Like they say, art thus imitates life and the horse’s continual
ennobling presence means that this creature remains a source of
inspiration for artists who look into encapsulating their vigour
and resilience in their works of art.
