I know the launching of the Royal Saint
Lucia Turf Club holds particular interest to
Her Majesty The Queen. As a committed
successful breeder, The Queen is very
interested in following and watching the
sport broaden its reach so that more
and more people are able to experience
its virtues. Additionally, her grandson,
HRH The Duke of Sussex, officiated at a
groundbreaking ceremony at the racetrack
site in late 2016 and her son, HRH The
Prince of Wales, was present for the
celebrations of Saint Lucia’s 40 years of
Independence in February this year.
As the Chairman of the China Horse
Club’s International Advisory Council I
am delighted at the level of support that is
being provided by the international racing
community for this first race meeting, the
2019 CECF Saint Lucia. Racing officials,
race sponsors and The Pitons Cup entrants
will come from numerous locations and
we are all delighted with the positive
involvement across a myriad of levels.

The Honourable John Warren is the long-time Racing Advisory to HRH Queen Elizabeth
II, a racing tragic and the patron of the world-famous Royal Ascot meeting. His talents as
one of Europe’s leading bloodstock agents also ensures he is in great demand with a weighty
list of notable clienteles including Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Prince
Khaled Abdulla of Saudi Arabia. John Warren is also the current Chairman of China Horse
Club International Advisory Council.
